Network Alert: 21st August 2020


A communications problem has occurred between Perth and Fremantle and Acurix Networks is investigating with our provider.

This means there are currently interruptions to Acurix Networks Internet and Wi-Fi services on Rottnest Island and Fremantle.

9:13 WST: Vocus have confirmed a major network event that is the root cause of the incident.  We are awaiting Vocus rectification of the problem.  Their support details to us is:

We are currently experiencing an outage on the Vocus network.

This outage has been classified as a Major Incident within Vocus and has been allocated the required resources to be resolved as soon as possible.

Details of the outage are: Customers connected to a PE router in Perth's South may be experiencing service down's. Engineers are en route.

9:32 WST: The issue reported by Vocus was a crash of a major ASR router.  This has now been restarted and services are coming back on-line.
